The TransitChatter API makes it easy for outside developers to write apps and websites that integrate with public transit and connect to its riders. The goal is to provide an easy-to-use API that works seamlessly across different transit agencies; allowing developers to easily write public transit-based apps that work in many different cities. The API simplifies the technical aspects of public transit, allowing developers to focus on their app’s niche. Existing apps and games can be augmented for more meaningful use on mass transit, and developers can start creating novel utilities, tools and other more innovative transit apps.
The API is not yet open to the public, but is slated for release in early 2014. TransitChatter wants to keep you updated as things progress, so please drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on the mailing list.
